Attempt 1

I attempted to use Ardex to create roses, however it crumbled and proceeded to fall off of the fabric. I am now looking at using strips of plaster (plaster of Paris) 

Working with Ardex

Using Ardex I will be trying to recreate one of Laura's images of roses. I will apply the Ardex to fabric and then apply paint for colour and texture. 

3rd Artist: Laura Mysak

I am now looking into Laura Mysak and I am hoping to concentrate on a variety of mixed media. E.g wax, Ardex, ink, paint 

Floral Artist: Lily Pultizer

After looking at some textiles artists I decided to look into Lily. Lily creates floral textile decor, her designs are turned into stationary, wallpaper, bedding and phone cases. 

I have taken her images as inspiration and recreated some of these within samples using my own photographs. I think that this artist works with quite flat materials where as I work with 3D multimedia materials. I fount this quite a challenge and it is something to focus on for my next artist. 

Developing Ideas

After finding the original Twiggy collage and recreating it using a photography of Audrey Hepburn and cut out flowers, I decided to use myself and real flowers to recreate it again. I decided to develop the image to show different ways of presenting ideas and getting inspiration.

Looking at Floral Patterns

I have also looked into my own garments which includes floral lace. This is something I could look to create on my own garment.

Secondary Source Inspiration Moodboard

I have taken photographs from magazines such as Marie Claire and YOU. I have created a collage out of these, this will give me something to refer to later on in the course when I need to look at designing and creating my own garment. I chose some of these images based on fashion items that are "in" currently such as the pussy-bow blouse and the camel skirt. I have chosen some of these for colour schemes and designs. 

I plan to return to this and my "Floral Fashion" collage later in the year.
